We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative designer to join our Children’s Design Team. 

 

At North Parade Publishing, it is our mission to create books for children which both educate and entertain, from novelty board books to non-fiction reference books. We are always looking to improve and innovate, so if you are enthusiastic and full of ideas, this job is perfect for you!

 

Key responsibilities:

 

• Keep up to date with trends and suggest ideas for new products.

• Excellent time management skills, able to work to tight deadlines and handle multiple projects

  from concept to final advances.

• Design a large range of products for children from books to puzzles and games.

• Create new products using existing artwork.

• Work closely with illustrators and illustration agencies to commission new artwork.

• Create production specifications for new formats, including books, box sets and puzzles.

• Set-up files ready for print to a high standard.

 

Key Skills:

 

• Minimum of two years commercial design experience, ideally in children’s publishing.

• Fantastic typographical and book design skills.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Positive, enthusiastic, and team-focused attitude.

 

The role is a full-time permanent position with a salary between £25-30K, it is office based and not suitable for remote working.
